Tottenham in ‘Very Concrete’ Talks for Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo

Spurs Step Up Their Wing Search

Tottenham have stepped up their pursuit of Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, initiating direct contact with the Reds as head coach Roberto De Zerbi looks to add reinforcements out wide before the transfer window closes. Reports describe the talks as “very concrete,” though the exact stage of negotiations remains disputed.

Sources close to Gakpo have denied that any agreement has been reached, even as some reports from the Netherlands claim a bid worth more than £60m has been sent to Liverpool and that the Dutch international has agreed terms in principle with Spurs.

Liverpool’s willingness to sell is understood to be tied to their own recruitment plans, with reports suggesting the club could move for two further wingers if Gakpo’s exit goes through.
