Real Madrid 2-1 Inter: A Perfect 4-for-4

Mbappe and Valverde Set Up Bernabeu Statement Win

Real Madrid opened their League Phase campaign in emphatic fashion, racing into a 2-0 lead inside the first 23 minutes against Inter at the Santiago Bernabeu on September 8 — exactly the fast, front-footed start our AI model expected when it made Madrid -0.5 favourites on the handicap.

Kylian Mbappe punished a defensive mistake to open the scoring in the 14th minute, and Federico Valverde doubled the lead just nine minutes later as Inter’s back line kept giving Madrid chances to punish. Inter refused to fold, and Carlos Augusto’s finish in the 77th minute set up a nervy final stretch — but Thibaut Courtois and Madrid’s defence held on to close out the win.

A 2-1 final score, three goals in total, and both sides finding the net — this fixture ticked every box our pre-match model flagged, and it did so with the exact scoreline our correct-score pick named at just 12% confidence.
